Description
This item is from a large, three generation collection of Native American art and artifacts from the estate of Bernard Clayton Conger. Conger was an avid collector of beads, points, pipes, effigys pottery and other items. Hetraveled from the Eastern US first to California and then to southern Oregon. Part of his collection was pictured in 'Who's Who in Indian Relics No. 7 1988
edition. His collection consisted of his own personal finds as well as his father's and grandfather's collections. He also had Mississippian pottery from Roy Pohler's collection, a few pieces of which I'll be selling. Please see my other auctions for more unique pieces from this estate.
Offered here is a 134 bead strand of rare
drawn blue and multiple color striped
beads from the BERNARD CONGER Collection.
These are wonderfully and finely made - and very early. From the Columbia River area in Eastern Oregon.
As you can see, this is a nice collector strand. It is beautiful cobalt blue glass (favored by NW tribes) with white stripes, green and black, and some multiple colors. Tons of
character
- there are a whopping 134 avg 9mm x 7mm beads. The strand measures approx. 42" long.
It is an extremely nice strand. It is guaranteed 100% authentic, from the collection of a recognized collector, Bernard Conger.
