    Description

    This stock certificate was issued by the Berks and Dauphin Turnpike Road Co.  Although the stock was issued May 1 of 1879, this single share was assigned to John H. Shaak on April 4 of 1898.
    The turnpike itself was authorized in 1805 and ran from Dauphin County to Reading on what is present day Route 422.  Great little piece of history that comes in a 6" x 8" frame.
