    Description

LOETZ, COPPELIA DOUBLE FLEUR DE LIS HANDLED VASE, GREAT FORM
Up for sale is this lovely vase made by Loetz Klostermuehle of Bohemia which is now the modern day Czech Republic.
The Pattern is called "Coppelia" and the form is a Vase with Tendrils.
The Vase is a nice cabinet size as it stands 6 1/2” tall
The bottom of the vase has a diameter of 4".
The base glass is Vaseline green yellow Uranium Glass. The Vase has an Organic feel to it
and has an added applied Candia (Gold) Tendrils that act as handles on each side of the Vase. (I wouldn't recommend using them as such). These handles reach down from just under the top lip and bow out and twist down to the bottom edge forming a Fleur de Lis pattern in the glass where it attaches to the body of the vase.
This is all set against a vertical wave and alternating Drape Iridescent pattern separating the waves. The Vase is considered to be in fair  condition as there is small chips on the bottom ( please look at the last picture).
The Vase is unsigned but it does display a very nice countersunk polished pontil. This is the sign of a quality piece of Art Glass. The Vase is very clean inside and shows little signs of use.
It appears to have been a Cabinet piece most if not all of its life. It is amazing that these handles have survived without a flea knick. This vase is known as "Coppelia" in the Loetz Catalog and is a documented pattern. It is a Lovely cabinet Vase that is not so commonly found and considered Rare.
    Coppelia - 1904
Greenish yellow or white ground in a wave optic pattern; Candia Silberiris or dark green handles or trefoil tadpole prunts.
