Description
This "KOTE" is from the Azuchi-Momoyama to Edo period in Japan.A "KOTE" is a component that protects the hands and arms from enemy attacks.
The basic structure of the armors used by Japanese warriors was to wrap the arm from the back of the hand to the shoulder in a single piece of cloth and sew a hard plate of iron or leather to it. Today, some martial arts such as kendo and naginata (swordsmanship) use protective "kote" (armor), and this armor's kote is the prototype.
These are in glass-fronted cases and can be easily displayed.
