    Description

You're bidding on a group of Samurai armour pieces - the Do (breastplate) and six Kasazuri (thigh guards) - Note, they are made primarily of lacquer coated wood, so I don't believe them to be actual combat ready or worn pieces. Maybe theatrical costume or ceremonial?
Red, with rope shoulders and blue silk cord, brass tacks and a brass ornament on the chest.
NOTE - condition is quite distressed - basic construction still seems solid, but the lacquer has chips, cracks, missing pieces and some heat damage. The kasazuri appear to have been attached by blue cord, but are now detached. Every time I handle it, some small bits fall off - SOLD AS IS AS FOUND.
Pieces appear to be quite old, though, and deserving of conservation. Still retain decent visual appeal as a display piece. I tried to put it on, but I could not get my head thru the top, and my hat size is only 7 1/4, so I imagine it would be a pretty small fit.
Please review photos carefully to make your own determination of overall condition and appeal, and don't hesitate to ask any questions prior to bidding - thanks for looking!
