    Description

Great color on this Bone Valley Deer antler. I found this in northeastern Manatee County Florida on 11/14/22. I found 4 antler pieces on the same site that day. This one was the biggest and best. Others are in my listings.

    What is Bone Valley?
Bone Valley is a geologic formation in west central Florida. More specifically, the upper layer of the Peace River formation. Fossil s from this region are estimated to be between 3 and 10 million years old. Fossils from this area are also well known for their unique tan-brown colors and are often very well preserved due to sediment they are encased in. Not all fossils from Bone Valley are tan-brown. I’ve found a variety of colors including pure white, black, grey, tan , brown, and some with blue hues.
