Cascara Burl Hollow Form/Bowl, Beautiful figure! ~ Dovecote Woodworking ~ (198)

Description

Turned from a rare and beautiful wood called Cascara, some people here call it Chittem. This could be called a hollow form or a bowl i suppose.  Its kind of in between.  Made from a root burl i found on a dead tree, it has some beautiful figured areas with fiddleback curl and some pockets of burls and inclusions. Really vibrant colors, it looks different dependkng on the light, sometimes it looks more pinkish or sometimes more orange and yellow.
Just over 6 1/4" diameter and 3" high. Finished with multiple coats of shellac. Has a nice satin sheen. Super smooth and silky finish.  No sanding scratches or tearout, and the inside is as smooth and nice as the outside. sanded to 600 grit.
