    Description

    This Australian Grass Tree Root Vase is an excellent example of quality wood turning for this fairly rare, slow-growing plant, which only grows in Australia and can live up to 600 years. The hard wood-like material is not actually wood, but rather the part of the plant that grows at the root level. Grass Tree Root is sought after by wood turners, as it is not only unique, but it can be exciting to work with as the final product can vary greatly in color and grain pattern. The vase is meant to hold dry materials… Water should not be poured into it. The vase measures 7.5 inches tall and 3.5 inches wide at the base. There is felt on bottom. Acquired in Australia around 25 years ago. It is in new condition and has never been used. Note: The vase is darker than the photos, but I wanted to show some of the detail.
