Hand crafted turned wood box featuring contrasting insets - an artisan creation

Description

This is a round, handmade turned wood box with matching wood lid.  The body of the box is made from alternating light and dark woods, and each of the 8 light panels has a small engraved medallion inset.  There is a matching inset in the center of the lid.  Box diameter is 4 1/4", height with lid is 3 1/3".  The bottom of the box does show a small crack where the two pieces of the bottom meet.
There is a personal message handwritten on the bottom in what appears to be felt tip pen.  This could be easily covered with felt, or sanded away.  I am leaving it, because it states the maker's name and date - '09.
