This is a Huge Woolly Rhinoceros (Coelodonta
antiquitatis
) Upper Molar from the Pleistocene of Siberia!
This molar is good condition with good enamel, a partial root, and
ZERO repair, restoration, or alteration!
The tooth
measures 3.565 Inches (9.055 cm)!
The Woolly Rhinoceros is a species of rhinoceros that lived throughout Europe and North Asia from 3.6 million to 10,000 years ago. It was covered in a thick layer of course hair that helped protect it from the freezing temperatures of the Ice Age much like the Woolly Mammoth. Adults ranged in size from 10-12.5 feet (3-3.8 meters) in length, about 6.6 feet (2 meters) tall at the shoulder, and 4-6 thousand pounds (1800-2700 kilograms). Much like modern rhinoceroses, the woolly rhino fed on tough vegetation using its large molars. A great opportunity to own a piece of one of the most iconic Ice Age mammals!
