    Description

    Dated 3/19/1926.
    The company was incorporated in New Jersey in 1922.
    Amiesite was created as a result of Joseph Hayes Amies experimentation with various road paving materials. He obtained 4 dozen patents and formed the Amies Asphalt Co. He then formed the Amies Road Co to hold the licenses for the production of Amiesite. In 1920 Donald Hepburn purchased Amies Asphalt Co and Amies Road Co thus creating a monoply for the production of amiesite.  The company never produced amiesite but it licensed its manufacture.
