Even though the age of the samurai is long gone now, “the soul of the samurai” currently lives on through general Japanese households.
Those helmets used to be furnished at “a tokonoma alcove.”
The oldest ones were made in 1940-1970, and the latest one today is made by the master craftsman who has been achieving his brilliant production since 1989.
The size of those helmets is not that big and the weight is moderated from 6.6lbs to 11lbs.
Samurai icons such as Kusunoki Masashige, Tokugawa Ieyasu, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Yamanaka Shikanosuke reflects not only the samurai spirit but also the code of honor towards martial arts (Kendo or Judo) and a symbol of social success or perseverance.
Once you place these helmets around you, you soul might be influenced by the samurai vibes.
As previously mentioned, obtaining those masked Kabuto helmets are considerably difficult but we are confident that you would love your new collection as an interior décor once it’s on your hands.
(I have no doubt to recommend those to you.)
Samurai Helmet
The Japanese Kabuto helmet used in Sengoku era is not only functional in combat
but also attracts people’s attention as a world masterpiece in the field of the applied art.
The Sengoku generals burned incense inside of their helmets and put a flower on their chests' before going to battle.
They were proud of pursuing grace even on the battlefield and carried unbreakable spirits.
Kabuto helmet explicitly represents the spirit of the samurai.
The design of the Kabuto helmet and its accompanying accessories were arranged by individual preferences.
The Kabuto helmet is decorated with antlers/horns (Kuwagata) and a front crest (Maedate) such as an arranged sword,
a dragon statue, Myo-oh sculpture, or a statue of Bodhisattva (Bosatsu).
The attachments on the front represent Shintoism and Buddhism and add significant value to the Kabuto.
The helmets on the website were carved by the artisan of Edo-period-specialist, who carried on the tradition.
