Description
This is an amazing large lathe-turned wood Ashleaf Maple Acer Negundo Vessel dated mid to late 1980's. It is in very good used vintage condition with no cracks, splits, scratches or dings, and it is 6 3/4" H, 15” in diameter and 49” in circumference. Signed on the bottom by the artist, inscribed into the wood finish along with his monogram “ED MOULTHROP RARE ASH LEAF MAPLE ACER NEGUNDO 607861
”. Ed Moulthrop is known as 'the father of modern wood turning' and his work is found in numerous museum collections, including the Columbus Museum, Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Renwick Gallery, the Mint Museum and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Washington DC.
