Takaoka Copperware is a local industry in Takaoka City, located in the western part of Toyama Prefecture.Its origin begins 400 years ago in 1609 when Toshinaga Maeda, the second feudal lord of the Kaga domain, opened a foundry in the current Kanayamachi, Takaoka city as part of the industrial policy to promote the prosperity of the castle.
In 1975, it was designated as a national craft as a traditional craft.
